At the Ten Directions Zen Community, our mission is to offer Zen practice in the lineage of Zen Master Seung Sahn to the people of the Greater Chicagoland area and the Midwest. In pursuit of this mission, our programming includes introduction to Zen classes, a weekly schedule of practice, dharma talks, and weekend retreats with authentic teachers. We have a two-year dharma teacher training program for individuals who wish to deepen their practice by serving the sangha. Our dharma teachers officiate at ceremonies for weddings, funerals, and Buddhist holidays. In addition, our prison outreach at the Indiana State Prison and Westville Maximum Control Facility offers regular Zen practice and training to inmates.

The Ten Directions Zen Community is a 501-C3 Non-Profit Corporation and is funded by member dues, donations, and program fees. We have no paid personnel. Please consider making a donation so that Ten Directions can continue to be a compassionate presence in the Greater Chicago community.
